Two official India photo checks
India eVisa and Passport Seva photo validator
Select the application channel first because India eVisa and Passport Seva publish different photo specifications. Your selected image is checked locally in this browser.
Official sources reviewed · no account required · your selected image is not uploaded

Check the file you plan to upload
This page does not upload or store your image. It checks file metadata, then uses a browser-side face model to screen common composition and background problems.
India eVisa photograph
JPEG, 10 KB to 1 MB, with equal height and width.
Private by design: the selected bytes remain on this device. The face model may be downloaded to your browser, but your photo is not sent with it.

What this check covers
- JPEG format, 10 KB-1 MB file size and square aspect ratio
- one visible face, approximate head size, centering and eye-line tilt
- light or white edge background and obvious shadows
No automated tool can confirm government acceptance. The issuing authority or application portal makes the final decision.

India eVisa photograph
JPEG, 10 KB to 1 MB, with equal height and width.
- Reviewed
The official eVisa page currently publishes no minimum pixel dimensions for the photograph. This tool therefore does not invent one.
Prepare an India eVisa photoPassport Seva ICAO photograph
Colour photograph at exactly 630 × 810 pixels with a white background.
- Official source
- Passport Seva, Ministry of External Affairs — ICAO photo guidelines (opens in a new tab)
- Supporting official source
- Passport Seva — passport application instruction booklet (opens in a new tab)
- Reviewed
The official ICAO guideline does not state a file-format or byte-size rule, so this checker validates only the published pixels and visible composition. Most domestic PSK/POPSK applications do not require applicants to supply a photograph; follow the instructions for your application channel.
Prepare an India passport photoWhat a result means
A pass means this browser did not find a problem in the rules it can measure. It is not an acceptance certificate. The tool cannot reliably prove recency, colour space, image alteration, religious exceptions, document eligibility or the final portal decision.
Face-landmark and background checks are estimates. Always complete the visible manual checklist and compare the file with the linked government source immediately before submission.
